Indian Stocks 11-February2016

1.0      National Stock Exchange (NSE) Benchmark Index Nifty50 :-

[A]       Movement of Benchmark Index : 


Nifty50 opened with 12 point of down ward gap at 7,203; made day's high at 7,208; continued to slide to 7,067 and thereafter systematically retrenched to 6965 ; make small technical bounce to 7,003 and again slipped to make day's low at 6,959 and finally closed at 6,972 or 3.32% lower.


[B]         Near Month (Feb'16)Expiry Nifty50 Derivative Contracts:

(i)        At the end of session, Open Interest in near month Future contract of Nifty50 was increased by 5.85%. Contract was closed at 6,982 or 3.65% Lower. That means Cost of Carry at the time of close was stood at 2.13. That is fresh built up of Short Position was seen in today's session. 

(ii)    At the end of session, Highest Open Interest(OI) of Near month Call Option contracts was stood at the strike at 7,500. ( same as in previous session) Highest OI of Put Option contracts was stood at strike of 7,000 ( in previous session it was stood at strike of 7,200) Short covering of 7,200 Put options and fresh Long Built up at 7,000 put options had made this shift. Highest trading volume of Call option contracts was recorded at 7,300 strike, whereas highest trading volume of Put option contracts was recorded at 7,000 strike. 

(iii)      At the end of session, Implied volatility (IV) of Near month 7000 strike Call Option was seen at 22.44, whereas IV of Near month 7200 strike Put Option was seen at 27.56

(iv)      During the session Put-Call Ratio (PCR) of Near month Options was increased. At the end of session, PCR was recorded as 0.69 (volume), against 0.84 (Volume) of previous session. PCR was recorded as 0.84 (OI) against 0.9 (OI) of previous session. 


2.0         Movement of India Volatility - Index INDIA VIX :-

           Throughout the  trading session, IndiaVix Traded in GREEN and after hovering around 23, surged to make day's high at 26.87. INDIA VIX finally closed at 26.97 or 15.58 % higher.

3.0 Advance Decline Ratio(ADR) :-

            NSE Advance Decline Ratio(ADR) opened near 0.4 and throughout the session continuously deteriorated to 0.08 level. Market breadth remained extremely weak throughout the session  ADR finally closed at 0.08 i.e. on NSE, 119 stocks closed in GREEN against 1,474 stocks closed in RED or in simple words, out of every 100 stocks  just 8 stocks closed with gain.

4.0 Movement of Currency Future :-

          On NSE, USD-INR Near month currency future (Feb'16 expiry) closed 0.63% lower at 68.48 INR. 


5.0 Sectoral Indices - Closing    :- 

Bank Nifty closed 3.84% LOWER. NiftyAuto Index closed 3.51% LOWER. NiftyMetal Index closed 4.39 % LOWER. NiftyPharma Index closed 2.23% LOWER. NiftyIT Index closed 2.71% LOWER. NiftyFMCG Index closed 3 % LOWER. NiftyReality Index closed 6.04% Lower. 

6.0 Daily Movement of the  Front line  Stocks :-

HUL closed 3.84% Lower. SunPharma closed 2.42 % Lower; 
Reliance closed 4% Lower. TataSteel Closed 4.33% Lower.
Infy closed 2.68% LOWER: TataMotor closed 6.95 % LOWER. 


7.0 New 52 Week High made by front line  stocks during the Day :-

In today's trade - no stock from Nifty50 / major Sectoral  Index made fresh 52 week High.


8.0 New 52 Week Low made by front line  stocks during the Day :-

Following  front-line stocks of Nifty50 / major Sectoral  Index made fresh 52 week low in today's trade and closed in RED. Figures in brackets shows the % difference of today's closing rate with respect to previous session closing rate.

CIPLA made fresh 52 week low but bounced to close in GREEN at 0.82% higher. 


9.0 Derivative Stock with Extra-ordinary price movement :

              Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC):-
Share prices of Public Sector Bank Oriental Bank of Commerce, HQ at New Delhiwere slumped  to 12.12 lower at 84.1 INR and finally closed at 85.05 INR with 11.13 % LOWER.
In today's trade, Open Interest in Near month(Feb'16 expiry) Future increased by 5.69 %. At the end of session, Cost of Carry of Near month future stood at -4.65. 
At the end of session Put-Call Ratio (PCR) for near month Options was 0.46( Volume)  & 0.52 (OI).  At the end of session, Highest Open Interest (OI) of Near Month Call Option was at strike price of 100, whereas highest OI of Put Option was at strike price of 100.  At the end of session, Implied volatility (IV) of Near month 85 strike Call Option was seen at 72.94, whereas IV of Near month 85 strike Put Option was seen at 78.65.

10.0 Daily Turnover on NSE :-

On NSE, Turnover in Equity segment was  18,956 Crore INR which was Higher than previous session; Turnover in Derivative segment was 3,65,713 crore INR Higher than previous session. 

11.0 FIIs/DIIs Daily Activity :-

As per EoD provisional statistics, FII/FPIs Sold equity worth 1,112 crore INR(net), whereas DIIs Bought equity worth 1,222 crore INR(net).

12.0 Important Development during the Day :-

       As per some financial newspapers, Indian Markets officially entered into BEAR territory. ( when stock market leading Indices shed more than 20% from its top it is considered the BEAR market). INDIA VIX today give confirmation to above report by closing above 25, At the time of writing this, All European stock markets BenchMark Indexes had closed in RED and U.S. Benchmark Indices, DOW30, S&P500 and Nasdek were trading in RED.  US Dollar Index was trading in RED.


13.0 Way Ahead :-

At the end of session, India Vix is placed in GREEN above 25. NSE ADR is placed at 0.08. Both these together indicates Negative bias for upcoming session.
