Indian Stocks 20-January2016

Nifty50 opened in huge 1% or 78 point downward gap at 7,357, made spike of 7,470; hovered around 7,300; slipped below 7,250. From day's low at 7,241, Nifty50 bounced to 7,318 level and closed at 7,309 or 1.7% lower. IndiaVix Traded in GREEN and closed 13.75% HIGHER at 20.96. NSE Advance Decline Ratio (ADR) around 0.15 throughout the session and finally closed at 0.17. On NSE, USD-INR currency January'16 expiry future closed 0.47% higher at 68.03 INR.

Bank Nifty closed 2.19 % lower. NiftyAuto Index closed 1.65% lower. NiftyMetal Index closed 3.11% lower. NiftyPharma Index closed 0.82% lower. NiftyIT Index closed 0.48% lower. NiftyFMCG Index closed 1.49% lower. NiftyReality Index closed 3.42% lower.

Reliance closed 3.3 % lower. TataSteel closed 2.44 % lower. Eight stocks from NiftyMetal Index namely Vedanta, Jindal Saw, Hindalco, NMDC, Coal India, SAIL, Bhusan Steel, Orissa Mines made fresh 52 week low and closed in RED. Infy closed 1.66 % lower. TCS and CYIENT has made fresh 52 week low and closed in RED. SunPharma closed 0.11 % higher. HDIL closed 3.81 % lower. SBI made fresh 52 week low and closed 5.14 % lower. Bank Baroda, PNB, Canara Bank. Bank India made fresh 52 week Low and closed in RED. TataMotor closed 3.4 % lower. Exide Industry made fresh 52 week low and closed in RED. Apollo Tyre also made fresh 52 week low but bounced to close in GREEN.

In international market crude oil continued to trade below 30 USD/Barrel. 

On NSE, Turnover in Equity and Derivative segment was Higher than previous session. As per EoD provisional statistics, FII/FPIs Sold equity worth 1,324 crore INR(net), and DIIs Bought equity worth 1,383  crore INR(net).

At the end of session, India Vix is placed in GREEN above 20. NSE ADR is placed at 0.1. Both these together indicates weakness.
